How to Start and Sustain a Happy, Healthy Writing Group

In this interactive workshop, Martha Vowles, author and founding member of the successful Saint John writing group, Seaside Scribes, will explore how to start a writing group, and how to keep it going without bloodshed or breakdowns.

Martha Vowles

Martha Vowles was brought up in rural Quebec, along the Ottawa River. She moved to Atlantic Canada in the 1970’s. Retired from her career as a speech-language pathologist, she now lives beside the St. John River, with her husband and a household of rescued dogs and cats. She devotes much of her time to writing and gardening. Her first book, a memoir entitled, Senior Management: Parenting My Parents, was published by Nevermore Press in April 2021. She is currently working on a second memoir, a collection of poetry, and has a novel on the back burner, next to the stew pot.
