WordSpring is in Moncton May 31 - June 2
If you can't attend for the whole weekend, we have a range of options for you.
Whether you are a student, a member, or a non-member, you can find something to enjoy during this 3 day festival. Remember that the Friday night Literary Soiree celebrating the winners of 2024 NB Writing Competition, as well as the New Brunswick Book Awards on Saturday night are open to the public, and free to attend.
1. Stay for the weekend
This includes all activities from Friday afternoon to Sunday at noon. Accommodations are separate from the festival ticket, but we have group rates available at the Rodd Inn for a limited time.
2. Buy a Saturday pass
This includes James Mullinger's marketing workshop in the morning, a choice of three workshops in the afternoon, and lunch.
3. Attend one workshop
You can choose one of our many available workshops, from James Mullinger's marketing workshop on Saturday morning, to one of the three writing craft workshops on Saturday afternoon, or one of two on Sunday morning.
If you have trouble registering, contact us at 506-974-1476, and we'll assist you.
This year,
WordSpring takes place in Moncton, hosted by the wonderful staff at the
Rodd Moncton Inn, 434 Main Street, as well as the
Alma City Club, 114 Alma Street, Moncton.
Our Friday night Literary Soiree celebrating the winners of the 2024 NB Writing Competition will take place at The Empress Theatre (in the Capitol Theatre building) 201 Robinson Street.
The ninth annual NB Book Awards--which is a free event, and open to the public-- will be held on Saturday evening at the Moncton Press Club, 160 Assomption Blvd, and emceed by Jonna Brewer of CBC. Our guest speaker is Pamela Mullinger, co-publisher of EDIT magazine.
We have a great lineup of workshops for you to enjoy, including the fabulous and very generous James Mullinger, who will teach us about marketing for writers, in a seminar and workshop exclusive to WordSpring!
Register soon! WordSpring 2024 is only a few months away.
Please Note - one big change this year:
We’re not organizing book tables on Friday afternoon this year because we can't guarantee any foot traffic. Instead, we will set up a merchandise table on Friday afternoon at the Rodd. We will also set up the table later on during the Literary Soiree at the Empress Theatre. We will allow those who are launching books at WordSpring to sign up for us to sell your books on consignment in our shop.
Please advise us at info@wfnb.ca as soon as you sign up for the book launch readings, if you would like us to sell your books on consignment on Friday. Please note that every author is responsible to carry their books to and from the merchandise table.
