Immersed in words pretty much all my life—starting when my mother gave me anagrams to solve and Italian words to learn at a very tender age—I am lately succumbing to a slow-burning passion for poetry. My work explores a number of themes, often returning to the interactions among humans, other animals and the natural world. First drafts are often born in the woods where I walk with my dog, or in an office with quite a decent view of the Bay of Fundy.

One of my poems was displayed at the Grand Manan Art Gallery in 2018. Two others have appeared in Fog Lit Journal, and three more are forthcoming in Cadence – voix féminines – female voices, a New Brunswick Chapbook anthology to be published by Frog Hollow Press in 2020. In 2016 I read four poems at Prélude, the WFNB/Frye Festival showcase for emerging New Brunswick writers; one of those poems was aired on the CBC.

I’ve lived and worked in the U.S., Canada and China. Career highlights include being an apple picker in Londonderry, New Hampshire, a Soprano section leader in Kingston, Ontario, an artists’ model in Waterloo, a bicycle courier in Toronto, a medical liaison in Victoria, and a technical editor in Shanghai. Needless to say, I work from both sides of the brain and have oodles of hobbies. I have an M.A. in English Literature (Queen’s) and an Honours B.Math. (Waterloo).
