WordsFall is our annual autumn meeting that takes place in New Brunswick communities outside the major centres of Saint John, Moncton and Fredericton.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWordsFall, the bookend to WordSpring, includes professional development workshops, book launches and open mic readings. It gives members a chance to gather as a community, hone their craft and share stories before the onset of winter.

WordsFall 2018 will be held at Sunbury Shores Arts & Nature Centre in St. Andrews, NB, on November 2–3.

We’re continuing the popular Friday afternoon Meet and Greet tradition at the Kennedy Inn bar and restaurant. In the evening we’ll gather at the gallery of the Sunbury Shores centre for a reception and open mic readings. Polish your poetry and prose and prepare for six minutes of fame!

We’re offering four great workshops with excellent writers and facilitators:

  • C.J. Masson: Researching Historical Fiction. C. J. honed her research skills as Senior Researcher for the Royal Commission on the Status of Pensions in Ontario and a communications consultant. She recently signed a contract for the publication of a US edition of her historical fiction novel Voices in the Fire.
  • Sandra Phinney: Making Memories Work For You. Sandra’s award-winning stories and photographs have been published in over 70 magazines and newspapers. She’s also written four non-fiction books and delivered workshops throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario.
  • Kayla Geitzler: Representing Yourself in Poetry. Kayla holds an MA in Creative Writing from UNB. Her first book That Light Feeling Under Your Feet, which examines the surreal and slogging world of cruise ship workers, was released this April from NeWest Press and made the Calgary Bestseller list.
  • Lynn Davies: Writing and Collage. Lynn is the author of three poetry collections: The Bridge that Carries the Road, Where Sound Pools, and How the gods pour tea. Her first book was short-listed for a Governor General’s Award and the Gerald Lampert Award. Her poems have been featured on CBC radio.
