Kayla Geitzler
Kayla Geitzler is a poet, writer, editor, and educator from Moncton, NB. Her poetry and fiction have been published in Poetry Is Dead, The Fiddlehead, Galleon, Qwerty, Headlight Anthology and most recently in Gnaw & Gnarl, a Chapbook of New Brunswick Poets by Frog Hollow Press. She is one of three anglophone poets featured in Les Effeuilleuses, the Artwork of Diane Jutras. Kayla’s first book, That Light Feeling Under Your Feet was published in April 2018 by Newest Press and she was recognized by the CBC as one of 14 poets to watch in 2018. She won the 2016 Bailey Prize from the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick (WFNB) for Best Unpublished Manuscript.
Kayla is a host for the Attic Owl Reading Series and works as an editorial assistant for The Fiddlehead and Galleon magazines. As a professional technical editor and writer, she has worked on some of Canada’s largest petroleum pipeline installation projects and most recently, writing and designing operational training courseware in the air traffic control industry. Kayla currently runs her own business, the Golden Hour, where she offers various writing and editing services, as well corporate communication consultation and creative writing mentoring.
