Kate Hotchkiss
Kate Hotchkiss the author of On Harbor’s Edge, the first story in a series of dramatic, generationally layered tales from 1912 to the present, set against the backdrop of magnificent coastal scenery. While the Popplestone Isle drama is fictional, some of the hurdles Mildred May Gale and her neighbors face starting over a hundred years ago still challenge those on small islands today. Of On Harbor’s Edge, author Linda Greenlaw says, “Captivating! On Harbor’s Edge hooked me line and sinker with fascinating characters and dramatic plots brilliantly layered in Maine island life a hundred years ago. Can’t wait for the sequel!”
In addition to authoring the On Harbor’s Edge series, Kate is a freelance writer, classic model and photographer with contributions to online and print magazines, newspapers, books, and commercial advertisements. Her writings and photographs mostly relate to Maine island sustainability and appear in Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors, National Fisherman, Island Journal, Weekly Waterfront, Isle au Haut Engine, Maine Island Living, and more.
