Joseph Koot
My family immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands when I was five years old, and I grew up on a farm in southwestern Ontario. In my career I was a nurse manager in the federal prison system, mainly in Dorchester, NB.
Joanne and I raised five children in Dorchester Cape overlooking Shepody Bay, and we are now both retired. For my next writing project, I am self-publishing a book about the place of religion in my life. I am a member of WFNB and a local memoir-writing group.
Publications
I have self-published my childhood memoir Looking for Bill, Finding Myself as well as Europe, One Step at a Time, the narrative of my 6,000-kilometre hike across that continent. Both of these are distributed through Tidewater Books in Sackville, NB.
What I Offer
I provide the reader with a clear story and intimate detail. I am available to edit the work of starting writers and to help them see their projects through to self-publishing.
