Joe Blades
Joe Blades is an artist, editor, educator, producer–host of the weekly radio program Ashes, Paper & Beans (CHSR) since 1995, and he is publisher of Broken Jaw Press Inc. in Fredericton. Blades has earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (1988), a Certificate in Film and Television (2008), and a Master of Education (2012). He is a Past President of the League of Canadian Poets, the Atlantic Publishers Marketing Association, and the Canadian Poetry Association. His writings are in over 50 anthologies and 30 chapbooks. His seven poetry books include Prison Songs and Storefront Poetry and Casemate Poems (Collected). His has poems and/or short fiction translated and published in Catalan, Dutch, French, German, Romanian, Serbian, Spanish, and Turkish. He has three books translated into Serbian published in Serbia, and in Bosnia Herzegovina.
Joe is available for funded readings, residencies and workshops via artsnb, Canadian Artists Representation Copyright Collective (CARCC), Canada Council for the Arts, League of Canadian Poets, NB’s Writers in Schools Program (WiSP), The Writers’ Union of Canada, and WFNS’ Writers in the Schools (WITS).
