Sheldon Currie Fiction Prize: Stories on any subject. Total entry not to exceed 20 pages.
Great Blue Heron Poetry Contest: Poems on any subject. Total entry not to exceed 4 pages. Maximum 150 lines. Entries might be one longer poem, or several shorter poems.
Deadlines: Fiction entries must be postmarked by June 1, 2016 and Poetry must be postmarked by June 30, 2016

In 2008, Nova Scotia writer André Narbonne won WFNB’s David Adams Richards Prize for his fiction manuscript Separatists which, while complete, was not long—only 98 pages.

A three-inch binder sits on the shelf above my writing desk, stuffed full of hopeful notes on different aspects of grammar, poetry, writing for the screen, writing for children, young adult , romance and historical novels. My inspiration wall keeps inspirational snippets collected from here and there in safekeeping. Most of these wise nuggets were all gleaned from ten years’ worth of attendance at weekend writing workshops, squeezed in between all the busiest parts of my life.
