Rose Burke was raised near St. Stephen, NB, and currently resides in Rusagonis with her husband. She has an Arts degree from the University of New Brunswick and a Social Work degree from St. Thomas. She loves reading and has always had a keen interest in people and their motivations but did not start writing until retiring from her career in Corrections.
She began with creative non-fiction and has since expanded into fiction and essays. On occasion, she even tries her hand at haiku. Writing competes with her previous love of photography and she now enjoys combining the two, especially weaving pictures into stories for her grandchildren.
One of her children’s stories was a finalist in the 2012 Atlantic Writing Competition for unpublished manuscripts.
