I always enjoyed writing but never pursued it, unlike my mother, the reporter. She used to take the poems I wrote and published them in the newspaper where she worked. That was the extent of my writing. Until five years ago.
I tried my hand at writing a courtroom drama “just for fun.” It didn’t work. I set it aside and wrote a second novel, all the while falling in love with the characters. Thus began my real journey as a writer.
I entered it in a publishing contest in 2010 but didn’t win. With the help of proofreaders, I edited it, and re-entered the same contest in 2011. It made the shortlist.
The certificate they sent me was enough for me to hire an editor and polish it. In November 2012, the editor told me it was ready. I self-published Stella’s Plea on Amazon.
Stella’s Plea is the story of a three-year-old child who disappears from the local park, and her mother’s struggle to find her.
I went back to, and finished, the first story. I just went through the first round of edits and going for seconds. Tentative release date for Emma’s Prayer is Fall 2015.
When I’m not writing or reading, I love to do translation. Email me for details.
