Michael Pacey was born in 1952 in Fredericton. He received his BA and BEd from UNB, and his MFA, MA and PhD (specializing in Canadian literature) from UBC. His work has appeared in more than twenty literary magazines including The Malahat Review, The New Quarterly, Exile, Prairie Fire, Descant and The Fiddlehead. He has also published a chapbook, (Anonymous Mesdemoiselles, New Brunswick Chapbooks, 1972) and a children’s book (The Birds of Christmas, Three Trees Press, 1987).
He was editor-in-chief of Prism International and has taught at UBC and Lakehead University. His first full-length collection of poems, The First Step, was published in 2011 by Signature Editions. In April 2015 he releases Electric Affinities, also from Signature Editions. Michael is currently completing a collection of poems, entitled Nature is my Bride and inspired by H.D. Thoreau’s Journal.
