Kelly Trevors Picard
I began writing poetry and short fiction in my teens. Now, more than 20 years later, I write novels, picture books, songs and poetry. I have two Bachelor degrees in English and Elementary Education, with various writing classes, workshops, and group memberships.
In 2012, I received both 2nd place and Honourable Mention for two different entries in the Children’s Literature category of the WFNB Literary Competition as well as an Honourable Mention in 2010. I also was a Top Ten Finalist in the Writing for Babies Contest at UNB’s Early Childhood Centre.
I have published some poems and articles and also have self-published a non-fiction book about bellydancing. I write in many genres, but my first love will always be writing for children. My goal as a children’s writer is to write books that children will love to hear and read over and over again.
To foster a lifelong love of literature in new readers; that is my dream and my reward.
