Former WFNB President, Nancy Bauer gave a writing workshop in Saint John and hooked me on fiction. With 25 stories that have either won first or second place, or received honourable mention in the annual WFNB writing competitions, including two firsts in the David Adams Richards Prize, I owe her and the WFNB for helping me understand the importance of perseverance and craft.
Great organization, wonderful people—WFNB makes writing better!
My short stories have appeared in Grain, Ottawa at Home magazine, Canadian Storyteller, and Glinting Gypsies. I’m currently working on a novel workshopped through Humber College’s creative writing program where I was fortunate to have David Adams Richards as my mentor.
