Joanne was born in Somerville, Massachusetts (USA), but when she was age 4 her parents decided to move to their Acadian roots and settle in Barachois, NB. In her younger years, she spent much time reading fiction, drawing cartoon characters, and listening to classical music. She also enjoyed the great outdoors with her older brother and friends, and hunting with her father.
After she completed her first short-story assignment in Grade 5, her teacher commented on her imagination and “natural gift for creative writing.” This planted the seed and sparked the passion for writing during her later years.
Joanne is happily married to her soul mate, Chris, and they have an extraordinary son, Julien, both of whom are highlights in her life. Joanne presently works full-time as a commercial insurance broker by day, and a Mom and wife/best friend in the evenings and on weekends. She also is a recent CRM graduate from a University of Toronto online course in continued studies.
Despite her busy life, Joanne enjoys the occasional freedom and energy to work on her writing projects. Her long-term goal is to self-publish her first fiction novel and finally say “I did it!” For now, this self-proclaimed “apprentice writer” says she will “enjoy my journey in writing, however long it takes, to the finish line far and beyond.”
