Jared Mallard is a Canadian playwright from Bishop’s Falls, Newfoundland. His original plays have been produced in Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Alberta, Massachusetts, Florida and New York City. His most recent play, Amongst the Monsters opened in New York City at the Manhattan Repertory Theatre as part of their summer festival. His play, Princess Ashley and the Battle of Goblin Creek, won Best Comedy at the 2014 Exit 7 play contest in Massachusetts. He was the runner up for the 2014 Douglas Kyle Memorial Prize for his Short Story Too Late For Sun. He was also the recipient of the 2012 Minister’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. He is the Artistic director of the Bliss Carman Middle School and acts as the President for the NotaBle Acts theatre company. He is currently a member of PARC (Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre), WFNB (Writers Federation of New Brunswick) and PGC (The Playwrights Guild of Canada).
