Janet Fraser is an award-winning Canadian poet who published her second poetry collection, Shiftless, with Guernica Editions in fall 2014. The book was launched in October 2014 as part of the Fog Lit Festival in Saint John, NB, and was launched again by Guernica Editions in December 2014. She was a featured reader at the Lorenzo Reading Series in October 2014, during which time The Baron conducted an in-depth interview with the poet.
Her first poetry collection, Long Girl Leaning into the Wind (2000, Killick Press), was shortlisted for the 2001 Newfoundland and Labrador Book Award. Janet has been widely published in journals and anthologies in the genres of fiction, memoir, and book reviews.
She teaches part-time at University of New Brunswick’s College of Extended Learning and works as a librarian at UNB. Janet, who was born in Saint John, is also the founding editor of the Canadian Literature Index.
