I am a botanist, historian and writer, interested in bringing these diverse interests to my poetry and prose. I am now writing full time after 33 years of work specializing in community planning and watershed management. My first book, within easy reach, about growing and gathering local, especially wild foods, was published in May 2016.My current project, entitled ‘in the shelter of the covered bridge’, is a manuscript of poetry about animals and plants living in and around covered bridges in New Brunswick. The project was supported by an artsnb Creation Grant. I am also working on a series of novels about life in rural New Brunswick. You can find some of my work, including poetry, watercolours and pencil drawings, at my website (shown to the left).
