The Writers’ Union of Canada (TWUC) is pleased to announce that submissions are being accepted until March 1, 2015 for the 22nd Annual Short Prose Competition for Developing Writers. The Malahat Review, Canada’s premier literary magazine, invites entries from Canadian, American, and overseas authors for the Long Poem Prize.
Two awards of $1,000 CAD each are given. Poets contributing to The Malahat Review have also won or been nominated for National Magazine Awards for Poetry and the Pushcart Prize. The Long Poem Prize is offered every second year, alternating with the Novella Prize.
The Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick (WFNB) is now accepting submissions for its 2015 Writing Competition, with $2,600 in cash prizes to be awarded.

The 2015 Atlantic Writing Competition is now accepting entries!

The Writers’ Federation of Nova Scotia invites emerging writers throughout Atlantic Canada to submit unpublished work in six categories: creative non- fiction, novel, poetry, short story, writing for children, and young adult novel.
All entrants receive written comments on their manuscripts. Category winners will receive a cash prize and an invitation to read at Word on the Street in September 2015.
